In the paper by Evans et al“Neurofibromatosis type 2” (J Med Genet2000;37:897-904), it was erroneously stated that linkage studies confirmed that all affected members of a large Pennsylvania family carried the same copy of chromosome 22. Linkage to chromosome 22 was confirmed in a different family described by Wertelecki et al in their paper “Neurofibromatosis 2: clinical and DNA linkage studies of a large kindred” (N Engl J Med1988;319:278-83).
